Well made action film; never pretends to be other than it is, a well constructed romp through the jungle. The photography is fine - very pretty countryside. Editing is sharp without getting flashy. In general, the direction is tight and the pacing good. The acting is very professional. Especially the Rock. His film career hasn't gone anywhere, because clearly Hollywood doesn't know what to do with him. But he has a natural acting talent and a natural charm and I wish he'd make more films like this before he gets too old for this sort of thing.<br/><br/>Plenty of shootin' and wrasslin' and explosions, with an acceptable up-beat ending. Solid entertainment for action fans.
I was in favor of this movie going into it but never a fan of the rock. I've always liked christopher walken and sean william scott so anyways, yeah it was another rush hour copy meaning one bad guy, one fighter and one funny guy. however i dont think you guys should talk alot of trash about it because it had alot of original jokes and good action.an avid movie watcher i suggest this movie, and yes your right im not a good persuasive writer.
The Rock and Scott work up some nice comic chemistry, but it’s the dependably warped Walken who steals the most scenes. The frenetically edited fight sequences will satisfy the blood lust of the target audience.
In Great Britain, this movie had been cut in order to achieve the more lucrative BBFC12 rating, however, only the uncut US Theatrical Version was released on DVD (tagged"Director's Cut"). The later BD release turned out to be a bad surprise: despite the BBFC15 rating only the shortened BBFC12 version could be found on the disc! Nearly one and a half minutes are missing in this version.
